Yah, I have seen that one. Worst father ever.
What kind of a father would teach his kid to smoke. Seriously!

Re: Smoking Baby Hooked on Cigarettes
I might catch heat for saying this but... This kid is not in any way unique, there are a bunch of these kids there smoking and in their culture its completely normal. I think the worst part of all of this is whats going on right now, we in the "western world" with our cuture(s) and ways of thinking shouldn't impose that in any way on their culture. Here that kid wouldn't be allowed to smoke and they would be terrible parrents and maybe the kids even taken from the parrent(s) and put some place "better" but in that country its ok and normal. That said I'm not going to say in any way possitive or negative what I think about this...

Your intitled to your view with any topic. If your opinion has a good reasoning behind it (and not just something your spurting out to cause a reaction
I think this is so wrong & disturbing. How a father could let their child smoke...especially that young..is beyond me! I felt sick watching it.
From what you've written though VampireHeart it did make me stop & think..you're right, to us this is unexceptible & in our 'world' if the parent refuses to stop the child from smoking then they probably should be placed with parents who will look after them properly...because that child is so young. However they do have a different culture to us so although it is wrong, to them its normal that shouldn't be allowed at all but unfortunatly I guess thats just the way things are
Re: Smoking Baby Hooked on Cigarettes
I do know that in asia the legal smoking age is 18.
However , I can go and order any of my young nephews or niece to buy me a stick of cigarette if I want to and the cashier will just give it to them.
This is the norm not just in the Philippines but other Asian countries as well.
I do see your point of view about imposing one's culture towards another but in this case it is really not imposing.
There is a legal smoking age and people know that, its just that nobody really enforces it and the police doesn't care.
Therefore you get the usual apathy from citizens.

Re: Smoking Baby Hooked on Cigarettes
opps i forgot to add this,
the cost of sustaining the habit of this baby must really have an impact on the family finances
if he smokes that much each day. Granted the family isnt destitute by any means however they arent
exactly that rich to not care.
