Bath & Body Works Manager Doesn’t Want to Work With “Satanis

http://wildhunt.org/blog/2009/10/bath-a ... nists.html

A sales manager at a Bath & Body Works in Hartford, Connecticut was allegedly fired by her new regional manager for making a religious pilgrimage to Salem for Samhain. Gina Uberti, who had been working for the chain for eight years, and taking the pilgrimage for six, had already gotten prior approval from her former regional manager for the Samhain trip. But her new boss, Sandra Scibelli, had other ideas.

“Uberti says she explained that her vacation had already been approved and that she was celebrating a religious holiday. Uberti says Scibelli responded, “That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Let me ask you where your priorities should have been?” Uberti says she asked what was ridiculous, and Scibelli replied: “Well, you will need a new career in your new year.” Scibelli allegedly added, “I will be damned if I have a devil-worshipper on my team.” Uberti says she was fired in November 2008. She seeks lost wages and punitive damages for religious discrimination.”

Oops! Doesn’t sound like a great PR move for Bath & Body Works during a recession and just before the Winter holidays.

Not nice.
I am really unfamilair with American Pagan beliefs but I find it intresting that someone would go to Salem.
I suppose in their minds it's to honor all the people who died during the burning times.

Yes I suppose it would be to honour those who died. Even though it is unlikely that they were Pagans?
It would make more sense to acknowledge the indigenous people killed in the taking of America, as they definitely were Pagan.
As far as the firing goes, I don't think that the employer has a leg to stand on?
Most people are content to lie with the herd, while some of us choose to run with the wolves.

You wouldn't think so,but she did fire the girl.
The girl has taken her to court,I wonder what will happen with the case.

Oh god that poor girl! I hope that vile boss of hers gets fired and the woman not only get her job back but be promoted! It's ridiculous! If i got fired like that I'd stand outside the place for days on end with a bullhorn screaming "THIS PLACE IS TOTALLY RACIST!"

Honestly it's ridiculous that in this day and age people can get away with such blatant discrimination.
I hope that she gets a large settlement and the manager gets the sack.
There is something pagan in me that I cannot shake off. In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything.

I have a great mind to believe in Christianity for the mere pleasure of fancying I may be damned.
